I’ve never seen so many executives and leaders reconsidering their careers, jobs, and life right now.
The pendulum has swung firmly towards the employee who has all the power and choice in what they do, where they work, and how they work.
Some fascinating trends in Executive Careers I’ve been discussing with CEOs and boards around the world:
Executives are moving companies if they don’t get the travel choices they want (have you heard: “I don’t want to travel this much/ I don’t want to be in the office this much….”)
Executives are being tapped for roles created just for them
Speed to hire is cut significantly
Hiring is happening predominantly from within your network
Head hunters are finding it hard to get executives & leaders to relocate as so many companies are letting you work anywhere
Executives have had a taste of taking control of travel/ the work you do / the work you don’t want to do and are demanding more from their current and future employers
Reinventing new chapters is increasing. Board work / advisory work / entrepreneurialism is on the rise
Retaining your team requires new creative ways as the head hunters are calling more frequently with lucrative packages
Executives are picking their own jobs internally and reverse interviewing FTS phenomenon is real (Forget This Stuff) and executives are taking action and control of their life and career. (…what did you think I meant by that acronym??!!)
Summer reflection on your life and career is real!
I’d love to hear what you are experiencing.
Dedicated to growing your business,
Val
